EUROPEAN stock markets closed lower overnight, with London's main FTSE 100 index slipping 0.11 per cent to 5527.16 points.
In Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.37 per cent to 3828.41 points and in Frankfurt, the DAX was down 0.39 per cent at 5795.32 points.
