The James Packer linked group also said it was not party to litigation taken by his sister, Gretel Packer, in Delaware against sellers of the US-based casinos business Cannery.
"Crown is not a party to the litigation and cannot comment on it," it said.
Crown's net loss for the half year ended December 31 was $409.70 million, reflecting the impact of a $547.5 million writedown on the carrying value of assets.
The result compared to bottom line profit of $3.62 billion in the previous corresponding period
That result was skewed by one-off gains while if excluded leave a profit of $196.33 million.
Crown's (cwn.ASX:Quote,News) normalised fiscal 2009 first half net profit, excluding non-recurring items, was $141.4 million.
During the half, Crown's Australian casinos, Crown Melbourne and Burswood, generated normalised earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) growth of 8.3 per cent.
The result at both properties was particularly pleasing considering the economic environment and industry wide performance both locally and internationally," chief executive Rowan Craigie said.
"Trading into the second half of the year has continued to be solid."
Crown said between January 1 and February 18 combined revenue, excluding VIP commission program play, for both properties grew 6 per cent, compared to the same period last year.
Both properties experienced solid levels of VIP commission program play over Chinese New Year, it added.
