THE dollar was lower this morning.
At 6.30am AEDT, the local unit was trading at 99.17 US cents, down from 99.50 cents yesterday.
Since 7am AEDT yesterday, the unit traded between 100.2 US cents and 98.79 cents.
The local unit began to decline from its intra day high yesterday as the Gillard Government announced a tax levy to help aid reconstruction of the flood ravaged state, Queensland.
