YAHOO! posted a fourth-quarter net profit of $US153 million ($170 million) overnight compared with a loss of $US303 million in the same quarter a year ago.
The internet company said revenue fell four per cent in the fourth quarter to $US1.732 billion.
Yahoo! said its annual net profit was up 43 per cent to $US598 million.
"Our business has positive momentum and we feel good as we head into 2010," Yahoo! chief executive Carol Bartz said, adding that demand for premium display advertising had improved significantly.
